Sourced from france, the beauty of the Anitque Confit pots originates from their storied past and aged appearance. The mustard colored clay pots were once used across France as a way to store cooked meats, such as duck and goose. The french name 'confit' translates to 'to preserve.' The bottom of the pots were left unglazed so they could be buried in the ground to keep the cooked food within a cool environment. Now a beautiful piece of ceramic art, the clay jars are often used in decor and provide an antiqued elegance within any space. Due to the fond nature of this product, each confit pot will vary in size, shape and coloring. The confit pot may come with or without a lid or spout.
