Large Chinese blue and white porcelain ginger jar or temple jar. Features hand-painted foo dogs or lions amid the clouds and fire with whimsical designs around them. The beautifully tapered form has mythical beast heads decorating the shoulders. The original lid is surmounted by a large foo dog depicted sitting with his paw on a ball. The bottom of the jar is decorated with geometric crashing wave patterns.
